The ISO 14001:2015 certificate normally has a validity period of 3 years from the date of issuance. After the ISO 14001:2015 certificate expires, the organization needs to conduct a Recertification audit to be issued a new certificate extended for the next 3 years.
AFTER BEING GRANTED ISO 14001:2015 CERTIFICATION, IS THE ORGANIZATION REQUIRED TO CONDUCT ANNUAL SURVEILLANCE AUDITS?
Yes. During the three-year certification cycle, organizations are required to undergo annual surveillance audits (once every 12 months), as mandated by accreditation requirements.
Failure to complete scheduled surveillance audits may result in suspension or withdrawal of the ISO 14001:2015 certificate in accordance with applicable regulations.
